Gabriel studied at Caius from 2005 to 2008, where he founded the G&C Politics Society and joined the chapel community.
He grew up in Brixton, not far from Caius House, and cares deeply about improving opportunities for local young people.  Since graduating he has completed a PhD in medieval history at Cambridge and worked as a researcher and advisor for heritage organisations and the Church of England.

His work has focussed on ways of sharing church architecture and history with new audiences, founding, leading the CofE’s ‘Always Welcome’ initiative and becoming a trustee of the Mausolea and Monuments Trust.
His academic research examines the history of cooperation in medieval and early modern parishes, and he currently holds a research fellowship at Clare Hall, Cambridge.
