Digital Youth Engagement Intern

​

​

​

Caius House are seeking an efficient and engaging team member with excellent digital/IT skills and a passion for working with youth. The primary focus of the Digital Youth Engagement Intern is to support Caius House’s work developing the digital skills of the young people in the local community, providing them with clubs, visits, projects, and other opportunities.

​

This is an exciting time for Caius House as we follow our strategy to create a youth space that provides skills for the future.  This is a new role within a small team at Caius House, reporting into the CEO.

​

This role would be a full time role (35 hours per week) for a period of 12 months, paid at the real living wage.

​

About the Jack Petchey Internship Programme

​

As part of this role, you will be part of the Jack Petchey Internship Programme with 30 other interns from different youth organisations in London and Essex. This development programme will involve you attending The Jack Petchey Internship residential launch conference, training workshops, and learning events that will take place in person in London. 

 

You will also be matched with a mentor from another organisation to support you in your professional development.  The mentoring can take place in person or remotely. You will receive an extra training bursary of £1,000 for approved training.  You will be expected to take full part in this programme alongside your role at Caius House.

Nursery Assistant

​

Are you passionate about early years education and committed to creating a nurturing environment for young learners? Little Keys Nursery (part of Caius House) is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Nursery Assistant with a Level 3 qualification to join our dynamic team. We are a term time only provider, currently operating Monday to Thursday.

​

Key Responsibilities:

1. Child Care and Development:

  • Provide high-quality care and supervision to children aged 2 to 5.

  • Foster a positive and stimulating learning environment to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.

2. Curriculum Implementation:

  • Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate educational programs and activities.

  • Collaborate with the team to create engaging session plans

3. Health and Safety:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.

  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean and organised classroom environment.

4. Parental Communication:

  • Establish effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and well-being.

  • Collaborate with parents to support the child's learning and development.

5. Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other nursery staff to create a positive and cohesive team environment.

  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

6. Observation and Assessment:

  • Conduct regular observations and assessments of each child's development.

  • Use assessment data to tailor activities and interventions to meet the individual needs of each child.

  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress, and any significant incidents.

  • Prepare and update individual learning portfolios for each child.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent.

  • Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices.

  • Current Paediatric First Aid certification is desirable.

  • Ability to speak Arabic, Italian or French is desirable.
